Tool # 5 Tagging and Social Bookmarking

I think that tagging would be very useful for many students since they will not always have access to the same computer.  They can access their bookmarks from any computer on campus or from home.  I chose two sites: one for personal use and the other for professional use.  I used the following tags; do it yourself, blog, home improvement, and for the other site I used math, curriculum, and resources.

Tool #4 Google Docs

By using the share function, I can collaborate with my teammates a lot easier on projects dealing with research assignments from educational websites.  Also, students could ideally post projects or assignments and share them with their teacher or a classmate online.  Their teacher or classmate can then edit them and they can see the results quicker.  This would actually require that students develop their keyboarding skills so that they don't spend too much time typing.

I could also provide trusted research sites for my students more easily.  Instead of directing them verbally, I could simply provide various sites available for them using Google docs.

Tool #3 Image generators and Mashups

I really enjoyed working with Wordle.  I like how students can actually use this to comprise a list of key words on specific academic topics.  I can see how this can also be used to develop a game of clue and answer.  The students could type and print several wordles and then have other students try and figure out what the main idea might be.  Unfortunately, I was unable to save it to my blog.  I haven't given up on it though.  For the purpose of this assignment I have decided to create a comic strip.  I'm sure the wolf doesn't mind that I am using her picture. 

Tool #2

I have always believed in team work.  The more minds that can collaborate on a particular problem or situation, the better.  When your PLN can be focused to include people particular to a specific field or background, then that is a very good situation to be in.

The five blogs that I decided to follow for now are those of my teammates.  I plan on adding more as time permits.
